During any dance to which we surrender with joy,

the brain loses it’s controlling power,

and the heart takes up

the reins of the body.

What people say

I’ve experienced all kinds of dance over the past 6 months on my journey of mental health recovery, search for myself and learning to connect, and I’ve found Bernadeta’s Movement Medicine to be the most wonderful. Through her incredible music and welcoming community, and I’ve been reminded that true joy is not only possible, it’s always present.

Love Movement Medicine with Bernadeta. Best time of my week and clearly best 2hours of tuesdays. It always surprises me how tired I could be before the session and how invigorated and relax I am after the session. The wonders of Movement Medicine dance.

Your class was dance heaven. The Justin Johnstone track blew my socks into the stratosphere. I found this version on youtube. Yours sounded even more atmospheric. Was that just the magic of Movement Medicine?

“To be alive in this beautiful, self- organizing universe - to participate in the dance of life with sense to perceive it, lungs to breathe it,
organs that draw nourishment from it - is a wonder beyond words ”

Short Intro

Bernadeta Zyla

Hi, I am a student of life of some good polish origins and I made Scotland my home a life time ago. Initially I studied philosophy because I didn’t know what to do with myself, until I discovered Movement Medicine dance and that was a game changer. I chose to become an apprentice to the best teachers I’ve ever met, Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling Khan, the founders of the School of Movement Medicine and since finishing professional training in 2018, I’ve been teaching in the beautiful city of Edinburgh and online. My learning isn’t finished and I’ve yet to graduate, but as the chinese proverb says, by learning you will teach, by teaching you will learn.

I don't have the power to take away suffering.
I have the power to bring joy.
