Friday night 2nd October Birthday Fundraiser
My Birthday is approaching very quickly and this year it’s going to be special, and this year I want to celebrate a little differently. Not because it’s a big birthday, not yet, but because a very special friend, Shauna Devlin, is visiting me all the way from Canada! She a 5Rhythms teacher – so together we are throwing a birthday fundraiser dance on Friday 2nd of October – my birthday being on the 3rd!
I’ve decided to turn our Friday dance into a birthday fundraiser, a chance to celebrate by giving back to people and organisations I believe in.
All proceeds from the evening will go towards:
1. Gaza Culture and Development Group
A charity supported by our dear dancer and friend Nada, who sadly can’t join us that evening as she is taking part in another event.

2. Huda Weal
A young woman from Gaza whom I have been offering some support to over the past few months.
By now, many of you know how deeply heartbroken I feel about the ongoing genocide in Palestine and the devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. I want my birthday this year to be an opportunity to put some love, care and practical support where I feel it is needed.
So we will dance our regular Friday class together with a little bit of extra magic: beginning at 7pm, with our special guest teacher and myself offering dance, and then we’ll gather to sing some beautiful songs led by Daisy Dinwoodie.
We’ll finish around 10pm, with Palestinian artwork, Postcards for Palestine, handmade watermelon brooches and Nada’s books, available for sale.
Come dance. Come celebrate. Come sing.
And help me make my birthday wish one that reaches beyond me.
